Peter Herrlin is London prime brokerage head at SEB

Peter Herrlin will be the new head of the SEB’s prime brokerage division in London. Herrlin, who joined SEB in 2010, succeeds Atilla Olesen, who has transferred to Denmark to take up a position as head of Enskilda Equities, the Nordic investment bank division of SEB.

On joining SEB prime brokerage in 2010, Herrlin worked with UK and european hedge fund sales, securities finance and SEB prime solutions, SEB’s UCITS platform.

SEB launched prime solutions in late 2010, with the platform growing to seven funds under Herrlin’s stewardship.

Herrlin said of his new appointment: “I am very excited to be taking on this new role. SEB Prime Brokerage is particularly well positioned to capitalise on our strong balance sheet and broad product palette to further expand our European client base at this time.

"Our model is attractive to investors and we have seen a surge of interest over the past couple of years, especially in the Equity and CTA space.”

SEB prime brokerage offers trading, finance, settlement, asset raising, structured solutions, clearing and custody services to the hedge fund industry.

Prior to joining SEB, Peter established and developed the hedge fund sales function at Danske Bank London branch, before that spending eight years within equity sales and fixed income trading at, amongst others, Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and ABN Amro/Alfred Berg.
